I was in Milwaukee at my good friend Ian's wedding. 9/11 happened. We were stranded. So we went to the pub. A small place with the bar in the centre, like Cheers. The locals were blaming everybody for doing it. Even the Irish!!! The barmaid knew who had done it but just couldn't remember the name. Then the politicians started, talking bollocks and winding everyone up. There was a strange air. I remember thinking, imagine you could go back, imagine what you would do or say if you knew it was going to be the last. You wouldn't give them any shit thats for sure. That evening inspired this whole song. I wrote it in five minutes. Then spent and year finishing it!!!
lyrics
September tenth - Lyric
She forgot the name
everyone’s to blame
something, somethings been done.
you came around, sure you lay it down, sing one of your songs
make us feel fine.
Maybe sounds funny, maybe sounds strange I get the feeling you ain’t gonna say
make them believe everything that you say
you never felt like you felt that day,
that day took my breath away.
Its falling now, its snowing now
September days you don’t find
it’s colder now, everywhere they’re lying down
seems like the world is holding its tongue
Maybe sounds funny, maybe sounds strange I get the feeling you ain’t gonna say
make them believe everything that you say
you never felt how, you felt that day,
that day took my breath away.
Instrumental break
Maybe sounds funny, maybe sounds strange I get the feeling you ain’t gonna say
make them believe everything that you say
you never felt like you felt that day,
that day took my breath away,
that day took my breathe away.
